MAPIM’S AWARDS
Scenarios of scholarly publications among MAPIM members have shown remarkable improvement, especially in recent years. Increased maturity of existing scholarly publishers and the establishment of new publishers are among the contributing factors to this scenario. In addition, various approaches, encouragement, and incentives that the management of educational institutions and research in the field of writing have created a wave of awareness and piqued the interest of academics and researchers to enhance the efforts of publishing. To ensure this continues, MAPIM, as an organization of scholarly publishers in Malaysia, has taken the initiative to recognize and appreciate the efforts of academicians and employees by organizing this MAPIM Award. In conjunction with the 2007 MAPIM Awards Ceremony held on February 21, 2008, Putrajaya, the former Director General of the Department of Higher Education, in his speech, emphasized that the MAPIM Award should be held annually.
